Early in her life, Jyl had spiritual experiences that she would not fully understand until much later in adulthood. Driven by a deep sense of purpose, she devoted her early career to advocacy, serving as a legal advocate for crime victims. Jyl’s work focused on cases involving abused children within the court system where she was known for her compassion, integrity, and fierce commitment to justice.
Jyl’s work as a forensic medium formally began in 2002. Trained through the Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College and other institutions of professional learning, she has offered insights into the events surrounding disappearances, suspicious deaths, and murders. Jyl later expanded her practice to include evidential and spiritual mediumship, extending her service to individuals seeking clarity and understanding in their personal lives.
In addition to her work as a medium, Jyl is also a poet and visual artist who works at the intersection of a variety of media. She has cultivated a career that merges artistic expression with deep inquiry into the nature of existence. Her acclaimed debut poetry collection, Soft Out Spoken, was released in 2019 by Sin Miedo Press, followed by her spoken word album, FIRE, in 2020. Prime, her second collection, was published in 2022. Her writing has appeared in Rising Voices: Poems Toward A Social Justice Revolution, We Are The Changemakers, Protectors 2: Heroes, Santa Clara Review, and Asylum Magazine for Democratic Psychiatry. Her poetry has been reviewed in Glass: A Journal of Poetry and Harbor Review. As a visual artist, her work has been featured in Existential Psychology and the Way of the Tao, Silent Screams, and MONUMENTAL 2021, an international juried exhibition, among others.
Inspired by her spiritual realization and the Light & Space Movement, Jyl’s work explores the nature of reality, inviting viewers to reflect on justice, the evolution of consciousness, and their own place within the fabric of existence.
